1st Annual Puzzle Hustle

Saturday, April 13 | 10am to 12pm

Puzzlers, get your team together and join Vernon Township Recreation & Vernon Board of Recreation puzzle hustle jigsaw puzzle challenge. Teams of 2-5 people will compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle in the shortest amount of time. This event is for ages 8+. Puzzle provided. A limited number of teams will be accepted, so registration is required. Prizes for 1st & 2nd place finishers.

 

Registration is required | $5 per team

 

1.      Check in begins at 9:00 a.m. In the lobby of the Vernon Senior Center (21 Church St, Vernon, NJ 07462 | rear entrance). The first 5 teams to check-in will receive a “1 Minute Pause Card” to pass out to another team during the competition. Once the card is given during the competition, the receiving team must pause working on their puzzle for 1 minute.  They must step away from their table; this will be timed by Rec Board.

2.      Teams may choose their table after check-in.

3.      Each table will have a (gift wrapped) puzzle not to be opened until the competition begins. 

4.      Competition begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.

5.      Onlookers are not to distract teams and cannot help teams with completion of their puzzle.  We ask that they stay seated in the outer perimeter of the room.

6.      Participants may not approach other team tables or distract other teams.  The only time a team may approach another is to give the “1 Minute Pause Card”.

7.      There will be no official breaks, but teams are allowed to do so as needed.

8.      Food and beverages are allowed on your puzzle tables at your own risk.

9.      The first team to successfully complete their puzzle and have it approved by a Rec Board member will win the competition.  Prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams. Presentation of prizes and team photos will be done once the 1st and 2nd place teams are determined.  

10.  If the time limit expires before any team has completed their puzzle, we will count remaining “loose” pieces to determine a winner. Pieces together in groups of 7 count toward completed puzzle.

This is a friendly competition, so please enjoy the event in the appropriate manner.
