Ordinance of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey, Amending And Supplementing Chapter 130 of the Code of the Township of Vernon Regarding Vacant And Abandoned Property Registration Fees

WHEREAS, a determination has been made that the municipal code concerning vacant and abandoned property needs to be amended regarding annual registration fees for vacant and abandoned properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and the Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex, and State of New Jersey, that Chapter 130 of the Municipal Code is hereby amended and supplemented as follows:
SECTION 1
§ 130-3. Fee Schedule.
The initial registration fee for each vacant and abandoned property under the provisions of this article shall be $500. The fee for the first annual renewal shall be $1,500, and the fee for the second annual renewal shall be $3,000. The fee for any subsequent annual renewal shall be $3,000 beyond the second renewal shall be $5,000.
SECTION 2
Each section of this ordinance is an independent section, and the holding of any section or part thereof to be unconstitutional, void or ineffective for any cause shall not be deemed to affect the validity of constitutionality of any other sections or parts thereof.
SECTION 3
Any ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed as to their inconsistencies only.
SECTION 4
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately as provided by law.
