Town Park Updates
September 20, 2007 - Phase II Work

June
27, 2007 - Phase II
The final design and bids documents were completed, the bidding process was started on Tuesday, June 19 and we will open the sealed bids on Tuesday, July 10. Construction of the park will commence on or about August 1. A set of plans is available for viewing in the engineer’s office, or at the manager’s office. (The Master Plan Map is available for viewing online in PDF form.)
Both Pole Barns have been completed at the park. These structures were constructed by our DPW personnel. We have begun watering the great lawn area with the new water cannon. The DPW – Parks Division has setup a watering schedule that will ensure maximum growth of the lawn area.
The DPW Personnel have started trucking the extra fill from the park to Beaver Run Quarry where the owner has offered to store it until we need it for our other projects. The DPW will be trucking back stone that is needed during the construction of the new synthetic field. The owner of the quarry has donated the stone to the Township.

Over the past several years, Vernon Township has worked
diligently toward obtaining property for a new recreation
facility. Well, the moment Vernon Township has been waiting
for, the official ground breaking of the new Maple Grange
Community Park.
The
ground breaking took place on Friday, June 17, 2005 at
10 a.m. On behalf of the Township Council, Mayor Ira Weiner
spoke at today's Groundbreaking Ceremony and stated, "it
is gratifying to know that we will have new ball fields
by the end of the year." He also thanked everyone involved
in bringing the project to fruition.
