RESOLUTION #R07-271

AWARDING A PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE FOR TAX REVALUATION FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF VERNON TO REALTY APPRAISAL CO.

WHEREAS, the NJ Director of the Division of Taxation and the Sussex County Board of Taxation has ordered the Township of Vernon to Revaluate all property in the municipality to be implemented in the tax year 2009; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Vernon has acquired proposals to provide Tax Revaluation for the Township of Vernon in the Tax Year of 2009 pursuant to the provisions of N.J. S.A. 19:44A 20.4 and/or N.J.S.A. 19:44A 20.5;

WHEREAS, the date of valuation is to be October 1, 2008; and

WHEREAS, the Township received three proposals from companies authorized to perform such revaluations; and

WHEREAS, the Assessor has compared the proposals for cost and quality of work to be performed, has determined that the total cost for the revaluation taking into account all possible expenditures is lowest on the proposal of Realty Appraisal Co. and, therefore, recommends that the Township award the proposal of Realty Appraisal Co. and enter into contract for the revaluation with Realty Appraisal Co.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex and State of New Jersey as follows:

1. The proposal of Realty Appraisal Co. is hereby accepted in order to provide for Tax Revaluation for the Township of Vernon to be implemented in the tax year 2009, subject to the execution of a contract between the parties and the availability of funds pursuant to a Bond Ordinance for said purpose.

2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately according to law.

I hereby certify that the above Resolution is a true copy of the Resolution adopted by the Vernon Township Council at their regular meeting held on Monday December 10, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Vernon Municipal Building, 21 Church Street, Vernon, New Jersey.
