RESOLUTION #R07-264
AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER # 1 FOR A COST INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 16,137.89.00 TO FERRARO CONSTRUCTION FOR INSTALLATION OF UTILITY CONDUIT RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF VERNON TOWN SEWER PUMPING STATION, CONTRACT #4
WHEREAS, the Township of Vernon entered into a contract with Ferraro Construction for the construction of a Sewage Pumping Station, Contract #4 pursuant to Resolution # R07-90, which contract provided for an expenditure of $ 657,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the contract provided for overhead wires to be installed under the high tension wires, however the utility companies providing the electrical and telephone service to the pump station site will not allow overhead wires, thereby causing an additional expenditure; and
WHEREAS, Consulting Engineer, Cerenzio and Panaro, has calculated the cost of change order #1 to be $ 16,137.89; and
WHEREAS, Township Engineer, Louis Kneip, has reviewed this change order and recommends that it be approved; and
WHEREAS, the current value of the contract, which includes all previous change orders is in the amount of $657,000.00 will have a cost increase of $16,137.89.00 for a net current value of $ 673,137.89, per the summary below; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer of the Township of Vernon, has determined and certified the funds of this agreement; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex and the State of New Jersey as follows:
1. A change order is hereby authorized in the total amount of a cost increase of $16,137.89 to be applied to the total contract.
2. The Chief Financial Officer has certified the funds for this increase.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption according to law.
CERTIFICATION
I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of the resolution adopted by the Vernon Township Council at their regular meeting held on Monday, December 10, 2007 in the Vernon Municipal Center, 21 Church Street, Vernon, New Jersey.
