RESOLUTION #R07-203

AUTHORIZING A CHANGE ORDER #2 IN THE AMOUNT OF A COST INCREASE OF $1,250.00 WITH PACT CONSTRUCTION FOR THE CONTRACT NO. 3 – SEWER TRANSMISSION AND COLLECTION LINES

WHEREAS, the Township of Vernon entered into a contract with Pact Construction for Contract No. 3 for the construction of the sewer transmission and collection lines pursuant to Resolution #07-131 which contract provided for an expenditure of $1,314,280.00; and

WHEREAS, the contract provides for 900 L.F. of 4” PVC SDR 35 for Residential Sanitary Sewer Service connections; and

WHEREAS, the Township Engineer has been made aware that one property has been subdivided and requires an additional service connection; and

WHEREAS, Township Engineer, Louis Kneip, has calculated the cost of change order #2 to be $1,250.00; and

WHEREAS, Township Engineer, Louis Kneip, has reviewed this change order and recommends that is be approved; and

WHEREAS, the current value of the contract of $1,256,155.00 will have a cost increase of $1,250.00 for a net current value of $1,257,405.00; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex and the State of New Jersey as follows:

1. Change Order #2 is hereby authorized in the total amount of a cost increase of $1,250.00 to be applied to the total contract.

2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption according to law.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of the resolution adopted by the Vernon Township Council at their regular meeting held on Monday, September 24, 2007 in the Vernon Municipal Center, 21 Church Street, Vernon, New Jersey.
