Functions and Duties
The purpose of the health department is to prevent disease through reducing the potential for health hazards within the community to cause injury or disease, such as preventing discharges into the groundwater, supervising cleanup of these spills if they should occur, promoting childhood immunizations, conducting cancer screening programs, and performing inspections of septic system installations.
