Plea Information
The
Municipal Court has jurisdiction over traffic matters
(Title 39 Statutes), criminal matters (petty or disorderly
persons offenses); municipal ordinances; Fish and Game;
Parks and Forests; Weights and Measures; etc. If you receive
a traffic ticket, you have the right to plead guilty or
not guilty to the charge(s). Instructions are located
on the reverse side of the summons. Certain summons REQUIRE
that you appear in court; however, if you are not sure,
please call the Vernon Township Municipal Court to speak
to one of the court employees.

There
is also a Community Dispute Resolution
Committee that provides a means in which minor disputes
at the municipal level can be resolved without having
to go to Court. Disputing parties appear before a team
of trained mediators who work with the parties to develop
a solution to the problem.
If a criminal complaint Summons/Warrant is issued against
you, YOU MUST APPEAR in Court on the date and time
written on the complaint. Complaints may also be filed
by citizens (in person only). For information please contact

The Vernon Township Court code is 1922. Payment can also
be made at the Violations Bureau Office or through the
mail. DO NOT MAIL CASH.
