ORDINANCE #07-46
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF VERNON, CHAPTER 99, 99-33. SCHEDULE IX: STOP INTERSECTIONS
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Township Council of the Township of Vernon that the Code of the Township of Vernon be amended as follows:
1. 99-33. Schedule IX: Stop Intersections
The intersection of Mac Peek Road and Sand Hill Road shall be controlled by a Stop Sign to be located on the easterly side of Mac Peek Road in the Township right-of-way, along with a 12” wide white stop bar extending to the center of Mac Peek Road. A double 4” wide yellow stripe, perpendicular to and beginning at the stop bar shall extend for a minimum of 25 feet from the stop bar. The yield signs on Sand Hill Road shall be removed, making Sand Hill Road the through road.
2. This Ordinance is adopted subjected to and in conformity with NJSA39:4-8.
3. The Township Engineer has reviewed this matter and has provided a Certification recommending this ‘STOP’ intersection plan be implemented.
4. If any Article, Section, Subsection, Term or Condition of the Ordinance is declared to be invalid for any reason, the balance of this Ordinance shall be deemed severable and shall remain in full force and effect.
5. This Ordinance shall take effect after publication, passage and approval of the Commissioner of Transportation pursuant to NJSA 39:4-8 according to law.
NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the above Ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading at the regular meeting of the Township Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey held in the Municipal Building on the _______ day of __________________, 2007 and same came up for final passage at the regular meeting of the Township Council held on the _________ day of __________________, 2007, at which time, after persons interested were given the opportunity to be heard concerning said Ordinance, the same was passed and will be in full force and effect in the Township of Vernon according to law.
