TOWNSHIP OF VERNON
ORDINANCE #07-12

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING §250-9 OF THE VERNON TOWNSHIP ADMINISTRATIVE CODE

BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex and State of New Jersey as follows.

1. The following section shall be added to the Administrative Code §250-9

G. Recreation Department Fees.

1. Use of Athletic Fields.

a. $75.00 per hour for all users who are not non-profit users or Vernon residents
b. $50.00 per hour for non-profit users except as set forth below
c. $25.00 per hour for Vernon non-profit users
d. $25.00 per hour for Vernon residents

2. Lights.

a. $25.00 per hour in addition to field use charges for all non-profit users and Vernon residents
b. $50.00 per hour in addition to field use charges for all users who are not non-profit users or Vernon residents

3. Users seeking non-profit rates must provide a copy of 501 (c) (3) status.

4. Program fees are covered by the advertised program and vary depending on anticipated or actual expense and the level of participation. Non-residents may participate in programs at the cost of the program fee plus 20%.

5. Sports groups sanctioned by the Vernon Recreation Department and Vernon school athletics shall be exempt from field usage and lighting charges during their sanctioned season as determined by the Vernon Recreation Department. Activities run by the Township are exempt.

2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances or resolutions that are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are repealed to the extent necessary.

3. If any article, section, subsection, term or condition of this Ordinance is declared invalid or illegal for any reason, the balance of the Ordinance shall be deemed severable and shall remain in full force and effect.

4. This Ordinance shall take effect after publication and passage according to law.

NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the above Ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading at the regular meeting of the Township Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey held in the Municipal Building on the 26th day of February, 2007, and the same came up for final passage at the regular meeting of the Township Council held on the 12th day of March, 2007, at which time, after persons interested were given the opportunity to be heard concerning said Ordinance, the same was passed and will be in full force and effect in the Township of Vernon according to law.
