VERNON
TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE #03-24
AN ORDINANCE REINSTATING S1138 OF THE TOWNSHIP OF VERNON,
NJ COMPREHENSIVE LAND DEVELOPMENT SUBCODE
Whereas,
the Vernon Township Council recognizes the importance
of maintaining an effective and reasonable Comprehensive
Land Development Subcode which does not create an unnecessary
burden or hardship on Vernon Township residents and businesses
who are desirous of improving or developing their property;
and
Whereas, the Vernon Township Council, in its desire to
reduce problems stemming from the development of undersized
lots, did rescind S1138 of the Comprehensive Land Development
Subcode; and
Whereas,
the Vernon Township Council, in their continued effort
to reduce problems stemming from the development of properties
in the township, adopted a Lot Development Plan ordinance
which requires an engineering review and inspection process
for the purpose of regulating the development of existing
platted lots and provides a mechanism for resolving potentially
problematic issues prior to construction; and
Whereas,
the Vernon Township Council appreciates the rationale
for allowing the development of undersized lots that are
able to meet all other Vernon Township requirements, including
but not limited to, front, rear, and side-yard set-back
requirements; and
Whereas, the Vernon Township Council has since identified
a pattern which shows that problems stemming from undersized
lot development have been substantially eliminated;
Now, Therefore, Be It Ordained by the Township Council
of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex and State
of New Jersey that the Comprehensive Land Development
Subcode S1138 shall be reinstated in its entirety.
