Functions and Duties
The Office of the Municipal Clerk is historical in its traditions, serving as a direct link between residents and their local government. New Jersey Statutes define the Municipal Clerk's responsibilities or "core duties" as: Secretary to the Governing Body; Secretary to the Municipal Corporation; Administrative and Licensing Officer; and, Election Administrator. However, these four core duties reflect just a portion of the many responsibilities and activities of the Municipal Clerk's Office.

Request for Access to Government Records (OPRA)- A request for access to or for a copy of Government Records should be submitted on this form which has been adopted by the Township Council for use by the Municipal Clerk as the Custodian of Records, per State requirements. (PDF)

Alarm Registration Information- Vernon Township requires registration for each home or business within the Township utilizing a dial alarm or an alarm utilizing the services of a central alarm or alarms audible outside the premises. A registration form can be downloaded here. (PDF)
