Boards, Committees, & Commissions
Membership
on the following Boards is open to Vernon residents. To
be considered for any Board or Commission, you may print
and complete the Volunteer
Application Form. (This is a PDF document and will
open in a new window.) Applications are accepted on a
continuous basis and should be mailed, faxed, or delivered
to the Township Clerk at the Vernon Municipal Building,
P.O. Box 340, 21 Church Street, Vernon, NJ, 07462. For

Zoning
Board of Adjustment
Besides
the power to grant land use variances, the Zoning Board
also hears land use appeals. Access board agendas and
minutes, as well as a list of members.
Planning
Board
The
Planning Board oversees and contemplates development within
the Township. Locate meeting dates, agendas, and minutes,

Enviromental
Commission
The
purpose of the Commission is for the protection, development,
and use of natural resources in the Township. View a list

Board
of Recreation
Among
the powers of the Board is the ability to recommend the
purchase of lands, although the decision concerning acquisitions
is left soley to the Council. Find a list of members,

of Seniors
The
Seniors Board promotes the welfare of the Vernon's senior

Historic
Preservation Commission
Working
to protect and enhance historic landmarks within the Township,
Historic Preservation advises the government on issues

This
advisory board provides the Township Council with advice
relating to the health, safety, and welfare of residents
