Year Round Prescription Drug Disposal
Posted: October 20, 2016

Vernon Township is proud to participate in the New Jersey Department of Consumer Affairs Project Medicine Drop program.
This initiative, which involves the installation of prescription drug disposal drop boxes at participating New Jersey police departments, lets the public dispose of unused and expired prescription medications safely, securely and anonymously. The opportunity is available seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The Project Medicine Drop box is in the lobby of police department headquarters which is located in the lower level of the municipal building at 21 Church Street in Vernon.
For safety reasons, the drop box can only accept solid medications such as pills, patches, inhalers, and similar objects. Liquids, medical waste and syringes are not permitted.
