Celebrate National Night Out August 2
Posted: July 11, 2011
Join us at this community event for teens, kids and residents of all ages as we come together to fight crime and drug abuse in our town. National Night Out will take place on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Maple Grange Community Park.
The night will include free food, games and prizes plus music, dancing and a free movie under the stars. DJ Razor will be providing the entertainment for the evening. The movie, the Blind Side, will be shown at 9:00 p.m. so be sure to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
The Vernon Police Department, Sussex County Sheriff’s Office, Vernon PAL and Vernon Coalition will all have booths with information on preventing drug abuse and crime.
The Vernon Coalition will hold a raffle for a chance to win iTunes and Wal-Mart gift cards
National Night Out takes place in thousands of communities nationwide on the first Tuesday of each August. It’s an evening where police departments and law enforcement agencies team up with the communities they serve to pledge their commitment to each other in making their neighborhoods safe.
Residents are also asked to show support for National Night Out by turning on their outdoor lights that evening.
