Commission Seeks Volunteers

Posted: October 11, 2013

The Vernon Township Historic Preservation Commission and its members believe in recognizing the importance of Vernon’s historic legacy. It is currently seeking like-minded individuals who share the same sentiment.

The commission is short-handed and needs volunteers from the community to continue its efforts. It doesn’t take a lot of time—just a couple of hours a month and maybe a little more for work on a project of choice. As a member, it is very gratifying to place historic markers at township locations educating the public on the local history.

Interested in serving as a commission member or just want to help out? Contact the township clerk’s office at 973.764.4055, ext. 2234 or fill out and submit the volunteer application form .
