In an effort to protect consumers against scams and rip-offs related to Hurricane Sandy and the post-storm recovery, New Jersey’s Division of Consumer Affairs has compiled a downloadable packet containing helpful information about how to avoid disaster-related scams such as price gouging as well as tips about hiring home improvement contractors and charitable giving.
Consumers who have complaints are urged to contact the division at its Consumer Service Center hotline, 800.242.5846.
