Caregivers Coalition Helps Caregivers in Sussex County

Posted: March 5, 2016

The United Way’s Sussex County Caregivers Coalition provides resources and support to the unpaid caregivers in the community. A caregiver could be a parent caring for a child with a disability, a friend helping their neighbor who has mental illness or a husband caring for his wife who is aging.

Visit the United Way Caregivers Coalition website for useful tools and resources, including access to the organization’s new, comprehensive regional caregiving guide “Pathways for Caregivers.”

The coalition will be holding its 4th Annual Caregivers Conference on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Newton Medical Center. This free conference is designed to provide inspiration and information to family caregivers. Topics to be covered include advocacy from the NJ ombudsman, managing mental illness and stress management. A light complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided. More information

The coalition also holds monthly meetings which are open to the public. These meetings offer education, resources, support and ideas while also helping caregivers connect with other caregivers and empathetic professionals who can share experienced advice.

Meetings will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Visions Federal Credit Union Building, 47 Route 206 in Augusta on the following dates:

May 5, 2016
