1st Annual Community Street Cleanup Day

Posted: April 20, 2021

The Vernon Township Environmental Commission is pleased to support the first annual Community Street Cleanup Day.

Here is how it works: On May 1, 2021, we are asking each homeowner to clean their street frontage of all litter. If you have an infirmed neighbor or a vacant lot, offer your services.

If we all work together we can clean up the litter and winter debris restoring our beautiful countryside.

Free Tree Seedlings

Posted: April 9, 2021

In celebration of Earth Day, the Vernon Township Environmental Commission will be giving out free tree seedlings on two dates:

  • Saturday, April 24, 2021
    Vernon Firehouse on Route 515
    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
(same time as the fishing derby so bring the kids poles and join in!)
  • Sunday, April 25, 2021
Heaven Hill Farm on Route 94
    10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

These trees are provided by a grant through the New Jersey Forestry Program in an effort to encourage keeping New Jersey green and help us plant forests for our future.

Species vary and supplies are limited.
