Posted: October 15, 2020
Governor Murphy has announced that $100 million in additional state CARES Act monies will be made available to support New Jersey residents and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The bulk of the money, $70 million, will be distributed to restaurants, microbusinesses and other small businesses through Phase 3 of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program. Additional funding will go towards the following:
- $15 million to support renters
- $10 million to help small businesses purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- $5 million to support food banks and other hunger relief efforts
Learn more about the pre-registration process
You MUST pre-register in order to register for this grant, even if you applied for other state grants including PPP, EIDL, Small Business Emergency Assistance Phase 1 & Phase 2. You will not be able to access the grant without registering in advance. No pre-registrations will be taken when the grant application opens.
When pre-registering, you will be told that you will receive an e-mail confirmation. The e-mail confirmation will not be delivered immediately as the NJEDA is having some technical issues and e-mail confirmations may be delayed. Please be patient…you have all week to receive these. They will not affect your registration process. Once you receive your e-mail, hold onto it for your application day. You will need it to apply.
