Build a Trail Day

Posted: June 28, 2017

The Vernon Township Greenway Action Advisory Committee (GAAC) is sponsoring a Build a Trail Day event on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers will meet at the trailhead at the intersection of Drew Road and Sandhill Road.

The trail will start near the Lutheran Church and stretch about two miles down to Mountain Creek near the Black Creek Sanctuary. The trail will also accent a loop in the base of the valley that is home to many precious birds of Vernon Valley, making it a local attraction for all people interested in the outdoors.

The GAAC is working with local Boy and Girl Scouts to help with the clearing of this trail. The Girl Scouts are also planning on building bird houses all along the trail. Countryside Landscaping has volunteered to assist with the effort.

We appreciate all the help we can get to make our greenway become a reality. If you plan to participate, please e-mail Toni Cilli at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this e-mail address). Make sure to wear proper clothing and gloves and bring tools to help clear the trail and water.
