St. Clare’s to Provide Ambulance Coverage

Posted: January 31, 2017

Update: As of February 14, 2017, coverage has been expanded to include Tuesdays.

Vernon Township, in conjunction with the Vernon Township Ambulance Squad and the Glenwood-Pochuck Ambulance Squad, have entered into an agreement with Saint Clare’s Hospital to utilize their ambulances four days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting Wednesday, February 1, 2017.

This was done in order to maintain a high level of emergency medical services to the residents of Vernon at a time when the dedicated volunteers of both ambulance squads are experiencing some difficulty in providing consistent services to the community for seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

We expect that this supplemental service with Saint Clare’s EMS will work well and that there will be no noticeable difference in service to our residents. The service they provide to residents will be billed to each patient’s medical insurance.

Anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer for either of the Vernon Township ambulance squads or if anyone has any questions or concerns, please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this e-mail address).
