Senior Citizens Committee

About the Committee

The Vernon Township Senior Citizens Committee has been established to promote the welfare of Vernon senior citizens through social, recreation and educational programs. The committee, acting in an advisory capacity to the township council, both advocates for and represents the senior population on township issues.

The committee consists of seven members appointed by the mayor, each of whom serves for a term of three years.

The committee holds its regularly scheduled meetings on the second Thursday of each month. Meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. and are held in the senior center at the municipal building at 21 Church Street in Vernon.

Meeting notices are posted on the bulletin board at the municipal building and advertised in the New Jersey Herald.
