Call the Meeting to Order: 7:30 p.m.

Statement of Compliance

Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 23, P.L. 1975 adequate notice as defined by Section 3D, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 has been caused to be made to the following: The New Jersey Herald, daily and Sunday, AIM and the Advertiser-News, and is posted on the bulletin board reserved for that purpose in the Vernon Municipal Center.

Chairperson Report

Discussion on parking situation at Maple Grange when a large event is happening. Vernon Day in 2011 for example. Towns for Teal: 5K run or mile walk—held in September for benefit of ovarian cancer.

National Night Out for Vernon to be in August of 2011. Get everyone to participate—police and fire department, invite police chief to meeting to discuss. Include DARE, PAL, juvenile detective, etc. Check with Fort Lee on way of handling.

Recreation Director Report

Fall sports are set up. Football is using building, concern on ages in the building. Discussion on field fees: tournament fees for more than 6 hours. Group fee can be a per season fee. Light charges discussed. Fees are for Maple Grange, not Veterans Park. Schools won’t pay.

Old Business

Pow Wow

Rec will have a table set up, string beaded necklaces. Christmas tree lighting will be discussed 9/15, invite PAL and chamber.

Halloween Event

Heather Hill Farm: Oct 2, 2010. Vernon residents pay 1/2 price during daytime—dollar amount off at night.

Vernon Day

Idea of rec holding a 50/50 at event.

Open to Public

Jessica Paladini brought to recreation board’s attention a post on a local forum concerning residents. Discussion followed.
