Call the Meeting to Order: 7:35 p.m.

Statement of Compliance

Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 23, P.L. 1975 adequate notice as defined by Section 3D, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 has been caused to be made to the following: The New Jersey Herald, daily and Sunday, AIM and the Advertiser-News, and is posted on the bulletin board reserved for that purpose in the Vernon Municipal Center.

Minutes

Held over for another meeting.

Chairperson Report

Booth at Powwow was a huge success with the children. Discussion of problems at Powwow concerning bathrooms. Pat will look into them and handle.

Recreation will make a recommendation that someone be around on nights or weekends for clean ups or problems at the park. Parking lot lights not working while others on all day. Need lights on path to building. Sign for contact number if problems arise.

Need to look into grants for recreation to make money.

Recreation Director Report:

Rules and regulations need to be part of the process for renting use of facilities. Will look into a form for requirements for 2011.

Vernon Day at Heaven Hill Farms was a huge success.

All seems set for Christmas tree lighting. Boxes will be set up for pine cones and Christmas cards. School groups are set, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus and Frosty. Gift bags from Vernon Rec. Halloween at PAL is 9/30 from 1-4.

New Business

Meeting dates change: November meeting will be November 9th due to conflicts of members. December meeting is December 1, 2010. In lieu of the meeting we will be at the Christmas tree lighting.

Open to Public

Mayor Rinker commented on having Vernon Rec Day at Mt. Creek. It was done many years ago and should be a success again. Possibly also a Vernon Day at Skylands also.

Mike Lewis attested that the snack bar is working out well for them.
