Call the Meeting to Order: 7:32 p.m.
Statement of Compliance
Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 23, P.L. 1975 adequate notice as defined by Section 3D, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 has been caused to be made to the following: The New Jersey Herald, daily and Sunday, AIM and the Advertiser-News, and is posted on the bulletin board reserved for that purpose in the Vernon Municipal Center.

Approved for May 19, 2010 with correction.
Meetings becomes once a month, third Thursday of the month.
Positive e-mails to Mary Bradley as to Vernon Day. Same e-mails request info for next year.
Three new members for rec board will be approved at council meeting and sworn in at July meeting.
There is a Pepsi grant available to groups. It is run through Facebook and is given monthly. It can be from $5,000 to up to $25,000.
Thank yous will be sent out to all the vendors from Vernon Day.
Vernon Day 2011 will June 11, 2011.
Recreation Director Report
November 5, 2010 bus trip to Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular.
Flyers going home schools for summer rec at Maple Grange. Tuesday will be crafts. Wednesday set aside for families. Bands will be contacted to perform.
July 20, 2010 will be family night—from 5-9 p.m. Laser tag and bounce house for children under 8.
Ad went up on site for summer jobs.
Community building—bids went out but no responses. May have to forego the $5000 minimum bid. Now waiting for football groups to respond.
Received a thank you from the run at the park.
Discussion about gangs in Sussex County—June 18, 2010 will be a march against drugs, organized by Timmy Grins. March will leave Mountain Creek, head to A&P and return back to Mt. Creek.
Scenic Byway being proposed. There are costs associated with it but long term would allow us grants and federal money.
Vernon has a new town manager.
Congratulations to Mary and Mary Ellen on a successful Vernon Day.
Police are showing up around the community building and trying to patrol but kids still are climbing up on roof. Liability issue.
Discussion on Maple Grange sign on Route 94 North.
Battle of the bands for Wednesday nights. Looking for volunteers, no pay. Community building would be a good place to perform.
Bike ride at Maple Grange Park—supply helmets and combine with 7/20.
Motorcycle rally or car show possibility.
Adam Paladini proposed a Mountain Bike Day. He also questioned about the problem with kids at the community building.
