About the Board
The Vernon Township Board of Recreation acts in an advisory capacity with respect to functions such as the establishment of rules for township parks and facilities, program development, capital acquisitions, facility improvements and maintenance, anticipated fees and program participation levels, etc.
It makes recommendations, reviews recreation initiatives, engages volunteers and promotes the township’s parks and recreation programs.
The board consists of up to seven township residents and two alternates, all of whom are appointed by the mayor and serve a five year term.
