Pursuant to the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) [N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.], the township clerk is the official custodian of government records in Vernon.
A request for access to a government record must be in writing and hand-delivered, faxed, mailed or e-mailed to the clerk’s office (requests cannot be made by telephone). Requests should be on our official Request for Public Record form , however, a written request will not be denied solely because the request is not on the proper form. Written requests that are not on the form must mention OPRA.
The fees for copies are as follows:
- Letter size page or smaller: $0.05
- Legal size page or larger: $0.07
- Large map: $7.00
- CD-ROM: $0.40
