Municipal Alliance Coalition
The Vernon Municipal Alliance Coalition is a community-based volunteer committee. It was established to address alcoholism and drug abuse in the community and to develop and provide prevention education programs.
One of twelve alliances in Sussex County—all of which are overseen by the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse—it is funded, in part, through Drug Enforcement Demand Reduction (DEDR) fines that are collected for drug-related offenses.
Committee members are stakeholders in the community and can include private concerned citizens, school and municipal employees, police officers and representatives from local civic, business and religious organizations.
