Old Business
Status of PowerPoint Presentation
Mr. Sokolewicz said that he is waiting for additional pictures to be provided by Carol Gunn Kadish to add to the presentation. He asked Mr. Bates if he had gotten a date for the presentation from Mayor Marotta. Mr. Bates responded no and added that he felt the mayor should be aware of what happened in Hamburg. The HPC members discussed the Hamburg issue after reading the article provided by Mr. Sokolewicz. The members decided there was a big differenced between the 2 projects. Hamburg’s Main Street was proposed to be historically designated and the Glenwood Historic Area would only be recognized as a historic area.
Mr. Sokolewicz would like to finalize the Glenwood Historic Area presentation at the next HPC meeting in March with a tentative date to present the project to the area residents in May 2014.
Status of Drew/Walker Homesteads
Mr. Bates advised that both owners are ready to go ahead with an application for historic memorialization.
New Business
Mr. Bates advised that he would be unable to continue his membership on the HPC if the meeting dates are the third Wednesday of the month. He has a prior commitment which he inadvertently forgot about at the reorganization meeting.
Motion: A motion was made by Mr. Bates to return the meeting day back to the third Thursday of the month. Mr. Borisuk seconded the motion. All were in favor.
Cynthia Davis will prepare a new meeting date resolution reflecting the change and will send to the township clerk to be advertised in the NJ Herald.
Black Creek Article
Mr. Sokolewicz provided a newspaper article, “Vernon’s Black Creek Site at the Heart of Interpretive Plan” - NJ Herald, 1/26/14 - for the members to read and asked whether or not the HPC should be involved in this project. Mr. Hanke suggested paying attention to it.
Applications to Review
LU #1-14-3: AT&T Site Plan and Use Variance to Relocate 6 Antennas
