Meeting was called to order by Craig Williams at 7:44 p.m.
Statement of Compliance
The following statement of compliance was read by Craig Williams.
Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 adequate notice as defined in Section 3D of Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 has been communicated from the Vernon Municipal Center to the New Jersey Herald and published on January 20, 2006. Notice is also posted on the bulletin board and filed with the office of the Township Clerk.

The roll call of members was called and Barrie Beaver, Dennis Downey, Michael Furrey, Gary Grey (arrived 7:55 p.m.), David Gornstein (arrived 8:05 p.m.) and Craig Williams answered the call.
Open Meeting to the Public
No members of the public were present.
Approval of Meeting Minutes
Michael Furrey made a motion to approve the October 24, 2006 minutes; Dennis Downey seconded the motion.
Applications Under Review
PB #11-06-16: Thomas Welch, Block 81, Lot 2.07—Minor Site Plan
The EC agreed the application does not create environmental impact.
PB #11-06-15: Top of Vernon Corp., Block 131.01, Lot 13, 14 and 15—Preliminary Major Subdivision
The EC reviewed the application and agreed the plans addressed environmental issues and concerns to minimize environmental impact.
ZB #3-04-4: Surjit Singh—Variance to Construct Canopy & Site Plan Approval
The EC agreed the application does not create significant environmental impact.
Planning Board Liaison Report
David Gornstein reported the following:
- The Mountain Creek application received preliminary approval with a list of conditions.
- The Whispering Woods application was deemed incomplete.
Shade Tree Ordinance
The EC discussed the goals of the ordinance and the square footage of lot clearing to be restricted by the ordinance. The ordinance is currently pending until placement on the town council agenda.
The EC reviewed a draft of a letter to the town council regarding the protection of environs in the township. The EC agreed to make revisions.
Open Space Map
The EC reviewed the township open space map.
There being no further items of business for the regular meeting, a motion was made by Michael Furrey to adjourn the meeting; Barrie Beaver seconded the motion. The regular meeting of the Vernon Township Environmental Commission was adjourned at 9:27 p.m.
