Minutes: June 26, 2007
Meeting was called to order by Craig Williams at 7:54 p.m.
Statement of Compliance
The following statement of compliance was read by Craig Williams.
Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 adequate notice as defined in Section 3D of Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 has been communicated from the Vernon Municipal Center to the New Jersey Herald and published on January 18, 2007. Notice is also posted on the bulletin board and filed with the office of the Township Clerk.
The roll call of members was called and Dennis Downey, Michael Furrey, David Gornstein, Brenda Susman, and Craig Williams were present.

Open Meeting to the Public
No members of the public were present.
Planning Board Liaison Report
David Gornstein reported PB would be discussing the Town Center Redevelopment Plan ordinance at the June 27, 2007 meeting.
Audubon Tour Guide
David Gornstein distributed copies of the new Audubon guide for planning birding and wildlife tours. The society has requested input from the EC. The EC agreed to provide local information.
Approval of Meeting Minutes
Dennis Downey made a motion to approve the June 12, 2007 minutes as amended; Brenda Susman seconded the motion.
Applications Under Review
PB #7-05-7: JD Vernon Lodge & Inn, LLC—Revised Site Plan
The EC agreed the application does not create significant environmental impact.
PB #7-07-8: John Rich—Minor Subdivision with a Lot Line Relocation
The EC agreed the application has steep slope and wetland concerns. The EC further agreed to request the following:
- soil logs
- water table information
- key for map symbols
PB #8-07-9: Susan Kubie—Minor Subdivision
The EC agreed that due to the large size of the lots the application does not create significant environmental impact. The EC agreed to petition the town council to access the open space funds to present an offer to purchase the land from Susan Kubie.
Craig Williams presented his revisions to the draft of the ordinance. Brenda Susman made a motion to accept the revisions to the ordinance; Michael Furrey seconded the motion.
There being no further items of business for the regular meeting, a motion was made by Michael Furrey to adjourn the meeting; Brenda Susman seconded the motion. The regular meeting of the Vernon Township Environmental Commission was adjourned at 9:28 p.m.
